BioThis is my creative journal. I do gardening, writing, drawing, and general crafting, with a strong tendency towards the steampunk and "old World" aesthetic. Have an ordinary household item? Blarg, I shall stitch a bunch of doilies on it, add some clockwork pieces and brass fittings, build up some masonry around it and some carved inlays, and make it look like it came right outta an HG Wells book! Oh, and plant some asian jasmine and columbine next to it, so it will appear to have been taken over by plant monsters.
In regards to gardening ... I live in northeast Texas near Ft. Worth, in either zone 7b or 8a, depending on which map you consult. My soil is slightly acidic sandy loam, heavily amended with compost and peat moss. I have both sun and shade, so I have a lot of different kinds of areas for plants. I'm still trying out a lot of them. I love discovering "new favorites"! I have a bachelor's degree in art, and I especially enjoy the challenge of putting together designs that appeal to the eye in different ways as the seasons change. I am trying different propagation techniques. I am a part of GardenWeb, which is fantastic forum for gardeners.
